Texas – In a shocking incident fueled by obsession in Texas, 23-year-old man, identified as S. Wilson, is facing a murder charge after allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend, 35-year-old N. Miller, during a late-night shooting. Wilson, who claimed he had only intended to win his ex with flowers, is currently being held in county jail on a $300,000 bond.
According to reports, the incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, at a home. Wilson reportedly snuck into the residence late Saturday night, entering through an unlocked door, and hid inside a closet in the daughter’s bedroom, according to the arrest affidavit. He brought with him a bizarre mix of items—flowers, money, and cocaine—with the stated intention of “surprising” his former girlfriend. But what began as an uninvited romantic gesture quickly turned into a deadly confrontation.
Around 2 a.m., the woman returned home with her current boyfriend. As she went upstairs to shower, several gunshots rang out from inside the house. According to her statement to officers, she emerged from the bathroom to find Wilson standing in the doorway with a weapon. Miller was found upstairs, lying on a bed with multiple gunshot wounds. First responders transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Before fleeing the scene, Wilson allegedly took his ex-girlfriend’s phone and told her, “Don’t call on me,” according to the affidavit. He then fled on foot.
Wilson was located later that morning at a friend’s house about a mile from the crime scene. During questioning, he admitted to shooting Miller but claimed self-defense, alleging that the victim had pointed a gun at him first. No weapon belonging to Miller was found at the scene. Investigators searching the house discovered multiple shell casings and bullet damage throughout the room. However, they were unable to locate the firearm used in the shooting. Wilson claimed he had discarded the gun, along with the flowers and other items, as he fled. His ex-girlfriend’s statement to police contradicted Wilson’s self-defense claim, suggesting the act was premeditated and unprovoked.
Investigators also learned Wilson had been drinking while waiting inside the home. What began as a late-night intrusion with romantic overtones ended in a violent act that police say was unprovoked and calculated. The murder has shaken the local community and raised serious questions about stalking, obsession, and domestic violence. What appears on the surface as a “surprise visit” was, according to police, a deliberate act that turned deadly the moment Wilson saw his ex with someone new. So far, no trial date has been set. Authorities are continuing their search for the missing weapon and any additional evidence that might provide insight into Wilson’s actions. A night that started with flowers ended in fatal violence—leaving one man dead and another facing life-altering criminal consequences.
