34-year-old woman died after her children’s father broke into the room where she was hiding and shot her three times in the head just hours after losing their court battle; man pleads guilty

Nevada – In a harrowing case that shook residents in Nevada, a 40-year-old man, identified as Roidan D. M., has pleaded guilty to murder with the use of a deadly weapon in the fatal shooting of his 34-year-old ex-wife, identified as Marillorky T. C. The killing occurred just hours after he lost their court battle. With his trial set to begin, Roidan opted for a plea deal on Monday, avoiding a lengthy courtroom confrontation while acknowledging the state had overwhelming evidence against him.

The plea comes with devastating weight. While Roidan admitted guilt in the murder case, he also agreed to an Alford plea in a separate matter—an accusation of se-ually assaulting a child under the age of 14. The plea allows him to maintain innocence while conceding prosecutors had sufficient evidence to convict. His defense attorney stressed that if the deal in the second case falls apart, the murder plea also dissolves. Prosecutors have already stated they intend to seek life in prison without the possibility of parole when Roidan returns to court for sentencing on October 15. As part of the agreement, other charges—including attempted murder, domestic battery, assault, and child abuse—were dismissed.

The events unfolded in grim detail on the afternoon of August 17, 2023. Just after 2:40 p.m., a frantic 911 call came from an apartment complex. On the line was Marillorky’s daughter, desperately urging dispatchers to send officers as Roidan was armed. Gunshots echoed in the background. When officers from the police department arrived, they found the aftermath of violence inside the apartment. The front door and a security door had been riddled with bullets and forced open. Inside, Marillorky lay dead in the hallway between the bedroom and bathroom. She had been shot three times in the head—once in the forehead—leaving no chance of survival. According to reports, a handgun was also found beside her.

Two others had also been wounded in the attack. One person was shot in the elbow, another struck in the eye. Both were rushed to a hospital and survived. A 2-year-old child, shared by Roidan and Marillorky, was also present in the home during the shooting but was unharmed. Investigators later collected 11 spent cartridges at the scene. A witness inside the home said Roidan shot through and kicked open the bedroom door where Marillorky was hiding, then fired into her head three times. Before pulling the trigger, he made a chilling statement, saying he warned her not to joke around with him. In the hours leading up to the attack, the couple had been in court. According to the daughter, her mother had just secured a favorable ruling—winning custody of the children, as well as the house and the truck. For Roidan, that ruling appeared to be the tipping point.

Roughly 30 minutes after the shooting, at 3:10 p.m., security footage captured Roidan pulling up to the police department. He stepped out of his car with his shirt drenched in blood, entered the building, asked to speak with an officer, and calmly waited on a bench outside. When approached by police, he made no attempt to deny what had happened. His chilling confession came without hesitation: “I killed my wife.” He also claimed that his wife’s daughter had stabbed him in the shoulder during the chaos. Now, with a plea agreement finalized and sentencing scheduled, a long and painful chapter nears its close. The case has left behind scars, both visible and hidden, in a family that will never be the same. The court’s final judgment in October will determine whether Roidan ever sees freedom again—but for those who knew Marillorky, no sentence can undo the damage of that tragic day.
