6-year-old boy hospitalized in critical condition after his stepfather stabbed him multiple times in the chest, neck, and face following a violent argument with his mother; stepfather charged

Louisiana – In a deeply disturbing incident in Louisiana, a 6-year-old boy is hospitalized in critical condition after being stabbed multiple times by his 37-year-old stepfather and a local teacher, identified as P. Greene, in front of seven other children inside their home. Authorities have charged Greene with several offenses, and they anticipate more charges as the investigation progresses.

The incident, which took place last week, shocked the community and left many reeling over the brutality of the assault—especially given the vulnerability of the victim, who is currently battling brain cancer. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence. Upon arrival, officers encountered a chaotic scene and discovered the 6-year-old boy suffering from multiple stab wounds to his face, neck, and chest. Sheriff B. Guidroz confirmed that the child’s injuries were “life-threatening.”

Greene was described as combative and resistant when officers attempted to take him into custody. He was ultimately subdued and arrested at the scene. Officials said the attack took place during a violent argument between Greene and his wife. While the details of the argument have not been publicly disclosed, what followed was a shocking act of violence committed in front of seven other children in the household.

The young boy, whose name has not been released for privacy reasons, was initially taken to a hospital before being airlifted for emergency treatment. As of the latest reports, he remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit after undergoing multiple surgeries. The boy’s pre-existing battle with brain cancer has only deepened concerns over his ability to recover. Sheriff Guidroz extended his office’s condolences, saying, “Our profound sympathies are with the family, and our prayers are for the young child.”

Authorities confirmed that seven children were present in the home during the incident. None of them were physically harmed, but officials emphasized that all of the children were in grave danger during the attack. Public Information Officer M. LeBlanc said the children were from previous relationships of both the suspect and the victim’s mother, noting that the injured boy was Greene’s step-son. All seven children have since been placed in the custody of family members as the investigation unfolds. The traumatic event has raised alarms about child safety in volatile households and the mental well-being of the minors who witnessed the brutal attack.

Greene, who was a high school teacher and coach, has been placed on leave from his position pending the outcome of the case. Upon his arrest, he was charged with domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, two counts of aggravated assault, and resisting an officer. However, the sheriff’s office has stated that additional charges are expected, as detectives are still reviewing body camera footage, interviews, and statements from witnesses. “They’re still combing through statements from various people. There were seven children in the home at the time,” LeBlanc emphasized. Authorities are asking anyone with further information about the incident to contact crime stoppers at 337-948-8477, assuring that tips can be submitted anonymously.

The attack has left residents of the tight-knit community shocked and heartbroken. The school district is reportedly offering support services for students and staff who may have been impacted by the news of their teacher’s arrest. As the young boy remains in critical condition, the entire region is holding its breath, hoping for a miracle while demanding justice for the heinous act committed against an innocent child.
