Arkansas woman wins half a million dollars playing her favorite instant game before heading to work

Arkansas lottery players prepare for exciting Saturday night drawings as Powerball jackpot reaches $856 million while LOTTO prize climbs above $2.1 million

Little Rock, Arkansas – A Little Rock woman’s typical workday commute turned into a life-changing moment when she won $500,000 playing the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery’s 200X the Cash instant game.

B. Todd, a regular lottery player, claimed her top prize on May 13 at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center. She bought the winning $20 ticket at QuikTrip #7211, located at 1215 Otter Creek Road in Little Rock, a stop that’s long been part of her daily routine.

Todd had originally planned to take the day off, but a last-minute shift in her schedule brought her into work—an unexpected change that, as it turns out, paid off in a big way. Like many mornings, she stopped at her go-to retailer and purchased a single 200X the Cash ticket. She scratched it right there inside the store.

“Oh my gosh, oh my gosh!” Todd remembered thinking the moment she realized she had just won half a million dollars.

For years, Todd had told her daughter that if she ever won a big prize, they would share the joy—and the winnings. True to her word, she immediately sent her daughter a photo of the ticket along with a short message:
“Call me now.”

The excitement was instant.

“We just started screaming continuously,” Todd told lottery officials after breaking the news over the phone.

Later, the pair let Todd’s husband in on the surprise. Initially, he braced himself for bad news. Instead, he found himself celebrating a six-figure win with his family.

With her newfound winnings, Todd says she plans to invest the money, ensuring that the lucky break contributes to her future.

There are still three top prizes of $500,000 remaining in the 200X the Cash instant ticket game, giving other Arkansas players hope that lightning could strike again.
