Hot Springs, Arkansas – The final days of June proved to be full of unexpected joy for several Arkansas residents as three lucky players won major prizes from Arkansas Scholarship Lottery scratch-off tickets. Meanwhile, a winning Natural State Jackpot ticket worth $90,000 from the July 1 draw remains unclaimed, adding suspense to a week of surprises.
One of the biggest wins came from Edward Gunter, a Hot Springs resident who snagged a life-changing $200,000 top prize while playing Psychedelic Payout, a vibrant and newly released $10 instant ticket game. Edward, who regularly buys Arkansas Progressive tickets, noticed the eye-catching Psychedelic Payout game during a stop at Lake Hamilton Superstop, located at 2070 Airport Road in Hot Springs.
“You really won’t believe this,” Edward told lottery officials as he described the shocking moment he discovered his win.
While chatting with his father on the phone at home, Edward scratched off the ticket and realized he had hit the jackpot. He was so stunned, he couldn’t keep the excitement to himself.
“I’m not going to tell you everything I said,” he laughed, “but I was very excited!”
His father was equally amazed and asked for a photo of the winning ticket to believe it was real. Edward, however, was most eager to wake up his wife and share the life-changing news.
“Honey, I’ve got something to tell you about life,” he recalled telling her. “It’s about to change.”
Before this, Edward’s largest win had been $1,000 earlier in the year. Reflecting on the comparison, he said, “That doesn’t hold a candle to this one!”
The Psychedelic Payout game still has two remaining top prizes of $200,000, keeping hopes high for future winners.
Two $50,000 Prizes Claimed from $50,000 Frenzy
Jennifer O., a Washington County resident, also had reason to celebrate. While casually running errands, she purchased a $20 $50,000 Frenzy scratch-off from Crystal Hill Food Mart at 6116 Crystal Hill Road in North Little Rock.
“I was just running errands,” Jennifer told officials. “I wasn’t thinking anything about it.”
Though she picked the ticket at random, her decision paid off with a stunning $50,000 top prize. She claimed her winnings on June 30.
Just a few days earlier, another Arkansas resident, Greg J. of Little Rock, had a similar stroke of good fortune. His wife purchased a $50,000 Frenzy ticket for him from Divine at 13901 Chenal Parkway in Little Rock and gave it to him as a gift.
Greg was in his kitchen when he scratched the ticket and revealed his surprise win.
“I thought, ‘No, that’s not right. Something’s wrong,’” he recalled.
But there was no mistake—Greg had won a $50,000 top prize and now looks forward to investing his unexpected fortune. He claimed his winnings on June 27.
The $50,000 Frenzy game still offers 40 top prizes of $50,000, giving other hopeful players a reason to try their luck.
Natural State Jackpot Ticket Still Unclaimed
Adding more excitement to the end of June, a winning Natural State Jackpot ticket worth $90,000 was sold for the July 1 drawing. The ticket was purchased at Flash Market #7182, located at 1903 Fayetteville Road in Van Buren.
As of now, the prize remains unclaimed, and the winner has 180 days from the date of the drawing to come forward. With the clock ticking, lottery officials are encouraging players to check their tickets.
From major wins to unclaimed prizes, Arkansas players are riding a wave of fortune, proving that life can change with the scratch of a ticket or a single draw.
