Man got upset a 17-year-old boy he was in a relationship with messaged other men and shot him to death because the boy didn’t want to be with him anymore; charged

Florida – In a harrowing incident in Florida, a 17-year-old boy, identified as N. Santos, lost his life after an argument with his 23-year-old boyfriend, identified as H. Valencia, ended in fatal violence. According to authorities, Valencia became upset after discovering that the teenager was messaging other people and wanted to end their relationship, which led him to fatally shoot Santos. Valencia has been charged with second-degree murder in connection to Santos’ death. He is currently being held without bond at the county jail, with his arraignment scheduled for August 12.

According to the sheriff’s office, the fatal incident happened on May 30, 2025, at a gas station. That afternoon, Santos and Valencia drove to the station together, but tensions between them quickly escalated. Inside the car, they began to argue, and Santos told Valencia he no longer wanted to continue their relationship. Authorities report that jealousy was a key factor in the conflict. Valencia allegedly became upset after discovering that Santos had been “messaging other men” and confronted him about it at the gas station. The disagreement turned heated, and in a devastating turn, Valencia pulled out a gun and shot Santos before fleeing the scene.

What makes this case even more heartbreaking is that Santos’ mother, identified as L. Albino, was on the phone with her son during his final moments. In a tearful interview with local media, Albino recounted how her son called her, asking to be picked up. Albino rushed to the gas station as fast as she could, but when she arrived, she found a scene no mother should ever have to witness. “I couldn’t recognize his face. I started asking, is he alive? They wouldn’t tell me anything,” she said through tears.

Witnesses at the gas station told police that after the initial argument, Valencia drove away — but then, shockingly, circled back. After parking his car again, he reportedly confronted Santos a second time. According to the sheriff’s office, when the teenager tried to walk away, Valencia pulled out his gun and shot him. Even after firing the gun, Valencia allegedly struck Santos in the head multiple times before fleeing in his car. First responders arrived quickly and rushed Santos to the hospital, but despite doctors’ efforts, the 17-year-old could not be saved. He was pronounced dead later that day, leaving his family shattered.

Valencia was arrested several days later and remains in custody at the county jail without bond. The sheriff’s office shared details of his arrest on social media, emphasizing the importance of recognizing warning signs in abusive or dangerous relationships. For Santos’ family, especially his mother, the pain is unbearable. Albino described how overwhelmed her son was in the relationship and how he was simply desperate to go home.

The tragic loss has shaken the local community, with friends, neighbors, and classmates mourning the sudden, senseless death of a bright young life. Advocates for domestic violence prevention have also highlighted the case, noting that partner violence can affect people of all ages and backgrounds, including youth, who are especially vulnerable.

As Valencia faces the legal consequences of his actions, Santos’ family is left grieving and searching for answers. The coming months will bring court hearings, legal proceedings, and emotional challenges, but for those who loved Santos, the loss will leave a lasting scar. The case serves as a painful reminder of the need for greater awareness around teen relationships, domestic violence, and the importance of recognizing when a relationship becomes dangerous — before tragedy strikes.
