Little Rock, Arkansas – A massive Powerball win has now been officially claimed in Arkansas, bringing a life-changing prize to a player who secured one of the largest jackpots in the state’s history.
The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery confirmed that the ticket holder who won the $250.8 million Powerball jackpot for the March 2 drawing has stepped forward to collect their prize. The ticket was not purchased in a traditional way but instead ordered through the Jackpocket mobile app, a platform that allows users to buy lottery tickets digitally.
The winning combination for the drawing included the numbers 2, 17, 18, 38, and 62, along with a Powerball number of 20. The ticket was linked to the Jackpocket retail partner Winners Corner, located at 6801 W. 12th Street in Little Rock.
The winner, described as a resident from Northwest Arkansas, chose to remain anonymous. Rather than taking the full jackpot spread over time, the individual opted for a one-time lump sum payment of $118 million before taxes. Notably, the player selected their own numbers instead of relying on a random pick, adding another layer of intrigue to the already remarkable win.
Major jackpot brings wider impact across Arkansas
Beyond the personal fortune gained by the winner, the jackpot run created a ripple effect across the state. During this Powerball cycle, ticket sales generated $2,351,480 in cash, while retailers across Arkansas collectively earned $121,050 in commissions.
Funds from ticket sales continue to play a vital role in supporting education. Each ticket purchased contributes to scholarship programs, helping students across Arkansas access higher education opportunities.
“We’ve been extremely fortunate to have not just one, but two huge Powerball jackpot winners in Arkansas within the last few months,” said ASL Executive Director Sharon Strong. “This month’s win further highlights the lottery’s positive impact on the state. From the retailers who sell our tickets to the students who benefit from lottery-funded scholarships, we look forward to supporting even more ‘big wins’ for Arkansans.”
This recent jackpot marks the third time a Powerball grand prize has been won in Arkansas. The state previously saw a staggering $1.817 billion jackpot claimed on December 24, 2025, along with an earlier $25 million win dating back to January 2, 2010.
Powerball remains one of the most popular lottery games in the country, with tickets priced at $2 per play. Drawings take place three times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. While smaller prizes are more common, the odds of winning any prize stand at 1 in 24.9, while the chance of hitting the jackpot remains extremely slim at 1 in 292.2 million.
Despite the long odds, moments like this continue to capture attention, offering not only the possibility of sudden wealth but also ongoing support for programs that benefit communities statewide
