Pine Bluff, Arkansas – Families looking for a fun summer activity will have the chance to enjoy a movie and a hands-on art project later this month as the ARTx3 Campus hosts its next Saturday Family FunDay in Pine Bluff.

The free event is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at The ARTSpace on Main, located at 623 S. Main Street. Organizers say the afternoon will combine creativity, family participation, and imaginative play for visitors of all ages.

The activity follows a screening of “Cars 2,” giving families an opportunity to continue the fun with a themed art project inspired by the popular animated movie.

Families invited to paint miniature cars together

After the movie, children will be able to decorate their own miniature wooden cars using colorful paints and creative designs. Each participant will take home their finished project at the end of the event.

Organizers encourage children to create designs inspired by favorite characters such as Lightning McQueen and Mater or invent entirely new racing champions using their own imagination.

Parents and guardians are also invited to join the activity, helping children decorate their cars while spending quality time together.

All painting supplies and materials will be provided.

According to organizers, the project is designed to encourage creativity, self-expression, and family interaction in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Saturday Family FunDay is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required. Families are asked to register for both the Family FunDay event and the “Cars 2” movie screening that takes place beforehand through the ARTx3 Campus website.

The Saturday Family FunDay program is held every month and gives visitors opportunities to participate in hands-on arts and science experiences. Activities vary throughout the year and may include creating artwork, completing science projects, or taking part in dance, music, and theater programs. Each activity is designed to complement current art or science exhibitions and is led by visiting artists, local art educators, or ARTx3 staff members.

The program is sponsored by the Ben J. Altheimer Charitable Foundation and the Pine Bluff Area Community Foundation, helping ensure that families can participate free of charge.

Those seeking additional information about the July event may contact DaQuaron “DQ” Dale, arts engagement coordinator, by email or by calling 870-536-3375. Organizers say they look forward to welcoming families for an afternoon filled with creativity, colorful artwork, and memorable experiences together.
