Pine Bluff, Arkansas – The ARTx3 Campus is inviting community members to get moving and learn new dance steps during an upcoming line dancing workshop in Pine Bluff.
The workshop will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, inside the Catherine M. Bellamy Theater at The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, located at 701 S. Main St.
Marcia Earhart of Diamond Line Dancers will lead the two-hour session. The workshop is designed as an energetic and social experience where participants can learn easy dance routines while enjoying a variety of upbeat music.
No dance partner or previous experience required
During the class, Earhart will teach coordinated line dancing steps that participants can follow together. Since the routines do not require partners, people can attend individually and take part alongside the rest of the group.
The workshop is open to people with different levels of dance experience, including beginners. Participants must be at least 15 years old.
Organizers describe line dancing as an enjoyable way for people to stay active while becoming more comfortable and confident on the dance floor. The supportive setting also gives participants an opportunity to socialize, laugh and practice routines without needing previous line dancing experience.
Registration costs $5 for ARTx3 members and $10 for nonmembers. Interested participants can register through the ARTx3 website or call 870-536-3375.
Anyone seeking additional information about the workshop can contact Bethany Gere, theater and programs coordinator, by email at [email protected] or by calling 870-536-3375.
