Benton, Arkansas – Drivers in Saline County should prepare for temporary travel changes this weekend as ramp work on Interstate 30 (I-30) will require an overnight closure.
According to the Arkansas Department of Transportation, weather permitting, the I-30 east exit ramp to Highway 67 (Exit 114) will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, August 1, through 6 a.m. Saturday, August 2.
Detour Information
During this closure, eastbound traffic on I-30 will not be able to use the Highway 67 exit ramp. Instead, motorists will be required to follow a signed detour:
-
Continue east on I-30 to Exit 116 (Sevier and South Streets).
-
Return to I-30 westbound and take Exit 114 for Highway 67 South.
Message boards, construction barrels, barricades, and signage will guide drivers along the detour route. Officials urge the public to remain alert when traveling through the work zone, as traffic speeds may be slower than usual.
Safety and Noise Considerations
The Arkansas Department of Transportation has also cautioned nearby residents that areas adjacent to the interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours due to the work. Drivers are strongly advised to reduce distractions, follow detour signs carefully, and maintain patience as crews complete the ramp improvements.
This closure is part of ongoing efforts to maintain safe and efficient travel on one of the region’s busiest interstates.
