Arkansas Department of Transportation seeks proposals for Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Deployment Program

Dedication ceremony planned to honor the service and sacrifice of fallen ARDOT and highway police members

Little Rock, Arkansas – The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) has opened the submission process for proposals under the Arkansas Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Deployment (EVID) Program. The initiative aligns with the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program, which aims to build a robust network of 500,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations nationwide by 2030.

Details on Proposal Submissions

Interested parties must submit their proposals by Wednesday, March 19, at 4 p.m. CST. Proposals should be submitted online at ardot.gov/nevi for funding consideration. To ensure clarity on program requirements, ARDOT will host virtual information sessions on Monday, January 13, and Wednesday, January 15. These sessions will provide detailed guidance on EVID requirements and responsibilities. Registration details for these events are available at the ARDOT NEVI webpage.

NEVI Formula Program Goals

Funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration, the NEVI Formula Program was established through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The program is a $5 billion initiative that will distribute funding to state governments through Federal Fiscal Year 2026. Its primary goal is to deploy EV charging infrastructure strategically along federally designated Alternative Fuel Corridors. This will enhance public access to charging stations and make cross-country travel in EVs more feasible.

For general program guidelines and additional details, visit ardot.gov/nevi.
