Arkansas LEARNS legislation is made public

Little Rock, Arkansas – The Arkansas LEARNS education reform bill’s legislation was unveiled by the governor, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and state legislators. This week’s Capitol View focuses on the 144-page bill that was just filed.

St. Sen. Linda Chesterfield, a member of the Senate Education Committee, and St. Rep. Keith Brooks, deputy chair of the House Education Committee, joined Capitol View with Roby Brock to talk about the proposal and some of its main points.

Brock next had a meeting with Raymond Long, the organization’s CEO, to talk about the forthcoming Little Rock Hoops for Kid’s Sake charity basketball event. The BBBS Advocacy Centers of Arkansas will benefit from the event’s proceeds.

A nonprofit organization called Big Brothers Big Sisters is committed to developing one-on-one mentoring connections with young people in need.
