Arkansas Scholarship Lottery presents bonus to Monette retailer for selling major jackpot ticket

Memorial Day weekend brings major luck as Arkansas players claim over $100,000 in prizes

Monette, Arkansas – Jordan’s Kwik Stop #64, situated at 19888 Highway 18 E. in Monette, received a $6,000 bonus check from the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) on August 30 for selling the winning $600,000 Natural State Jackpot ticket for the draw on July 10. The winning ticket was claimed on July 15 by a Jonesboro man who purchased it while working in Monette.

Since the announcement of the win, Jordan’s Kwik Stop has experienced a surge in customers eager to try their luck with the Natural State Jackpot. “Everyone that comes in wants the ticket that person won with,” said Cassie Shephard, the store manager, noting that the excitement has also boosted sales of other lottery games, including Powerball® and LOTTO.

Increased Sales and Community Impact

Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Executive Director Sharon Strong expressed her appreciation for the role of retailers in supporting the lottery’s mission. “We are happy to present Jordan’s with the commission check for selling the record-breaking Natural State Jackpot ticket,” she said. “Our lottery retailers are integral to our mission of helping fund scholarships for Arkansas students.”

Since its inception in 2009, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has helped fund more than 770,000 college scholarships and awarded over $427 million in retailer commissions. Retailers like Jordan’s Kwik Stop receive a 1 percent commission from the sale of winning tickets, further incentivizing them to support the lottery’s programs.
