Pine Bluff, Arkansas – The ARTx3 Campus is excited to announce a Directing Workshop led by actress and arts educator Patrice D. Williams. This workshop, sponsored by a Kenneth Reams Arts for Justice Grant, will take place on Saturdays from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on August 3, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on August 10, 17, and 24. The sessions will be held at The Adam Robinson Jr. Black Box Theater, located at 627 S. Main St. in Pine Bluff.
Empowering Aspiring Directors
This beginner-friendly workshop is designed for aspiring directors aged 16 and up. Participants will have the opportunity to embark on their directorial journey while learning how to integrate mental well-being into their practice. The workshop aims to equip participants with the fundamental principles and techniques necessary for directing, alongside fostering an understanding of maintaining mental health in a demanding industry.
Comprehensive Learning Experience
The workshop will cover a range of essential topics, from script analysis to effective communication with actors. Participants will engage in hands-on exercises, receive personalized guidance, and collaborate with fellow attendees to gain practical experience in directing. This holistic approach ensures that participants not only develop their skills but also learn to prioritize self-care and resilience.

The four-session workshop is priced at only $20 for the entire series. For those who wish to sample the workshop, individual classes can be attended for just $5 each. This flexibility allows participants to tailor their involvement according to their interests and availability.
