ARTx3 Campus hosts opening reception for surrealist art created by Pine Bluff High School students

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – A unique art experience is coming to Pine Bluff as the talented students of Pine Bluff High School prepare to unveil their surrealist-themed exhibition titled “It Was All A Dream.” This imaginative showcase blurs the boundary between reality and fantasy, offering viewers an opportunity to explore the dreamlike visions of young artists.

The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas (ASC), located at 701 S. Main St., will host the exhibit’s opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20. The event is free and open to the public, welcoming guests to immerse themselves in a world where imagination and reality intertwine.

Presented by Pine Bluff High School art students, the exhibition embraces surrealist principles that focus on dreams, the subconscious, and unexpected combinations. “It Was All A Dream invites viewers to step into a world where imagination and reality intertwine,” the exhibit description states. “Each piece transforms ordinary subjects into extraordinary visions—blurring the line between what is real and what is imagined. Through their creative interpretations, these young artists invite you to question, wonder, and dream alongside them.”

The exhibit will remain on view in the Loft Gallery at the ARTx3 Campus through Feb. 26, 2026. Guests interested in visiting the gallery outside the opening reception can schedule appointments during regular hours.

The surrealist showcase is sponsored by Pine Bluff Sand & Gravel Co., demonstrating strong community support for arts education and youth creativity.

Shakeelah Rahmaan, interim curator and programs director at ARTx3, is overseeing the exhibit. For more information or to schedule a gallery visit, contact Rahmaan via email at [email protected] or call 870-536-3375. Additional details can also be found at artx3.org/exhibitions/2025-pine-bluff-high-school.

The exhibition is part of ARTx3’s ongoing mission to nurture artistic talent in the community and give young artists a platform to express themselves through powerful and thought-provoking works.
