Pine Bluff, Arkansas – Jasmine Harris, an esteemed educational specialist, doctoral student, and published poet, will lead a dynamic camp focusing on poetry and the spoken word. This engaging workshop will explore how rhythm and rhymes can help develop a love of language. Campers will learn about performance and delivery, gaining essential skills to express themselves through poetry while deepening their understanding and appreciation of poems written by others.
Harris, whose work has been featured in the Hidden Sussex Anthology, Prometheus Dreaming, Syndrome Magazine, and more, focuses her writing on intersectional identity, aspects of community, and popular culture. Drawing inspiration from icons such as Maya Angelou, Ntozake Shange, and Tupac Shakur, Harris brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her teaching.
