Pine Bluff, Arkansas – The ARTx3 Campus is excited to invite the public to a special opening reception for the new exhibition “Glimmer” by artist Heidi Carlsen-Rogers. This free event will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, located at 701 S. Main St. in Pine Bluff. The exhibition is sponsored by the Kline Family Foundation.
Guests attending the reception will have the opportunity to enjoy drinks and appetizers, courtesy of MK Distributors, while exploring the unique artwork and engaging in conversation with the artist herself. The exhibition “Glimmer” features a collection of large-scale tapestries designed to simulate a 24-hour period in a tranquil garden setting. The tapestries are crafted to reflect the changing colors of the day, from dawn to daylight, high noon, dusk, and finally, nocturne. This artistic representation aims to create a serene environment where visitors can find solace and connect with the themes of healing, hope, and a renewed relationship with nature.
Heidi Carlsen-Rogers’s work is intended to be a place of remembrance, offering comfort and peace in times of stress or anxiety. The garden she depicts serves as a metaphorical space where seeds of connection and well-being are planted, encouraging viewers to reflect on their relationship with the Earth and their community.
The exhibition will be on display in the William H. Kennedy Jr. Gallery at the Arts & Science Center from August 22, 2024, through January 10, 2025. As always, gallery viewing is free to the public.
