Authorities investigate suspicious ATM entry after alarm sends unidentified man fleeing in Pine Bluff

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – Authorities in Pine Bluff are asking for the public’s help as detectives investigate a suspicious incident involving a bank ATM and an unidentified individual who fled after an alarm was triggered.

According to the Pine Bluff Police Department Detective Office, the incident happened on April 30, 2026, at a bank located near 30th Avenue and Hazel Street. Investigators say the individual shown in surveillance images entered the ATM area using what appeared to be an ATM key. However, shortly after gaining access, the ATM’s alarm system activated.

Police said the man immediately fled the scene once the alarm sounded. Detectives have not identified him as a former employee of the bank, raising additional concerns about how access to the ATM area was obtained.

Detectives warn similar incidents are becoming more common

Investigators noted that they have received information suggesting incidents like this may be part of a growing nationwide trend. While officials did not release further details about the possible pattern, authorities are continuing to examine the situation and determine whether the incident may be connected to similar cases reported elsewhere.

The Pine Bluff Police Department is now urging residents to review the released images and provide any information that could help identify the individual involved.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the detective office tip line at 870-730-2106 or the detective office directly at 870-730-2090. Residents may also contact the dispatch center at 870-541-5300. In addition, tips can be submitted online through the department’s website at pbpd.org.

Officials say community assistance could play a key role in helping investigators move the case forward and determine exactly what occurred during the incident.
