Bridge over the L’Anguille River on Highway 261 near Caldwell closed for necessary repairs until late February

Caldwell, Arkansas – Motorists traveling on Highway 261 near Caldwell should be prepared for a temporary bridge closure over the L’Anguille River due to necessary repairs. Following a routine inspection, crews determined that maintenance work was needed, prompting a full closure of the bridge until Friday, February 21, at 5 p.m.

Repair Work and Traffic Impact

The closure will allow crews to repair the substructure of the bridge, ensuring its safety and longevity. Weather permitting, work will continue daily until the scheduled completion date.

While the bridge remains closed, the highway will still be accessible to local traffic on either side of the closure. Digital message boards, barricades, construction barrels, and signage have been placed to alert drivers and guide them through the detour.

Travel Information and Updates

Motorists are encouraged to stay informed by checking IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov for real-time travel updates. Authorities advise drivers to plan alternative routes and exercise caution near the construction zone.
