Disturbance at Pine Bluff apartment complex leads to arrest, ongoing investigation

Pine Bluff police seek public help to find man wanted for 1st Degree Battery

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – Pine Bluff police responded to a report of a disturbance that took place at an apartment complex Thursday afternoon. This incident was heightened by the fact that it involved gunfire, sparking serious concerns amongst residents and authorities alike.

Officials with the Pine Bluff Police Department (PBPD) responded promptly, confirming the disturbance had occurred just before 5:20 p.m. Their rapid response was triggered by initial reports of gunfire they received around 4:22 p.m. The location pinpointed was the Camelot Townhouses & Apartments complex located at 4001 Old Warren Road.

The consequences of the disturbance were tangible and unsettling. According to the department’s release, one patrol vehicle sustained damage from the gunfire. The officer inside the vehicle, while not directly shot, did suffer minor injuries due to the incident. Such events underscore the dangers that law enforcement face daily, even in what might seem to be routine surveillance or patrol duties.

PBPD officials reported that 24-year-old Quantarious Sission was arrested in connection with the shooting. Upon his arrest, Sission was subsequently taken to the Dub Brassell Detention Center. The gravity of his alleged actions is evident from the charges he’s facing, which include attempted capital murder, possession of a firearm by certain persons, terroristic act, and engaging in a violent criminal act.

However, the investigation doesn’t end here. Authorities are actively searching for another individual, 26-year-old Chaderious Avery, in relation to the incident. The police warn that Avery should be considered both armed and highly dangerous.

In their quest for justice and to ensure public safety, the Pine Bluff police are reaching out to the community for assistance. They urge “anyone with information on this incident to call the PBPD detective tip line at 870-730-2106, the detective office at 870-730-2090 or the dispatch center at 870-541-5300.”

As this story unfolds, residents and the public are advised to stay updated. With an armed individual still at large, caution and vigilance are of utmost importance.
