Extra Extra Crossword instant game made Halloween memorable for Paris resident

Paris, Arkansas – A recent Halloween shopping trip turned into a memorable event for Paris resident Sasha Mitchell, who claimed a $75,000 prize from the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery’s Extra! Extra! Crossword instant game. Sasha purchased her winning $3 ticket at Tobacco Town Paris, located at 1205 E. Walnut in Paris, Arkansas, and claimed her prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on November 7.

Sasha’s thrilling win came just days after purchasing the ticket, which she didn’t scratch until a week later while sitting in her driveway. Her excitement built as she revealed each word in the crossword game, one by one, realizing she was inching closer to the top prize of $75,000.

To win the top prize in the Extra! Extra! Crossword game, players must find 11 winning words on their ticket. As Sasha scratched, the words kept adding up, and her excitement grew. Then, she reached her tenth word and noticed there was yet another word hidden under her thumb—a thrilling discovery that revealed her eleventh and final word, confirming her win.

Reflecting on the experience, Sasha said, “It kept going and going.” She recalled her disbelief as she counted each word, realizing she had indeed won the top prize. “I just about fell out!” she told lottery officials after discovering her win. This marks her largest lottery prize yet, following smaller wins of $200, $300, and $500 in past Arkansas lottery games. After collecting herself, Sasha shared the good news with her fiancé and then told other family members and friends. With her winnings, she plans to pay off her debt, a plan that feels surreal to her. “I think it’s a dream,” Sasha said. “I’ve cried so many times today.”

Lottery’s Record Jackpot Awaits Another Winner

While Sasha celebrates her $75,000 win, other Arkansas residents may have a chance at an even larger prize this week. LOTTO, an Arkansas-exclusive draw game launched in 2022, offers local players the chance to win big prizes. The current LOTTO jackpot has risen to a record-breaking $4.164 million for tonight’s drawing, promising excitement for players across the state.

Since its launch, LOTTO has seen several major winners, including a Sebastian County resident who took home a $2.338 million jackpot and a Pulaski County winner who claimed $999,000. Designed specifically for Arkansas players, LOTTO adds extra excitement by providing various prize tiers and frequent drawings.

LOTTO drawings take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9 p.m., where six numbers between 1 and 40, plus a Bonus Number, are drawn. To win the jackpot, a player must match all six numbers drawn in any order. Additional prizes of up to $25,000 are available for players who match three or more winning numbers, with or without the Bonus Number, offering multiple ways to win. Tickets for the game cost $2 per play, and ticket sales close at 8:59 p.m. on the night of the drawing.

The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery continues to provide both entertainment and opportunities for life-changing prizes for local players. For more information on how to play and to explore other games, Arkansas residents can visit the official website, MyArkansasLottery.com.
