Fayetteville, Arkansas – One Arkansas lottery player’s gut feeling turned into an incredible win when he hit the $180,000 Natural State Jackpot (NSJ) on February 25. Rene L. of Fayetteville claimed his life-changing prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on February 27, proving that persistence and luck go hand in hand.

A Lucky Ticket Bought on a Visit to His Brother

Rene, a dedicated NSJ player, had always believed in the better odds of winning with in-state lottery games. His faith in the Natural State Jackpot had paid off before when he won $300, and he felt he was “due” for another win.

While visiting his brother in Elkins, Rene decided to purchase 10 NSJ tickets for his brother and one for himself at Shell Super Stop #109, 2001 N. Center St. That single ticket ended up being the jackpot winner. The lucky numbers for the February 25 drawing were 2, 15, 18, 27, and 32.

From a $7 Win to a Shocking Discovery

The morning after the drawing, Rene checked his numbers while half-asleep. Initially, he thought he had only won $7 and went back to bed without a second thought.

It wasn’t until later that day that he realized his real winnings. In shock and excitement, Rene immediately woke up his brother. “Hey, look at these numbers and see if I really won,” Rene said.

His brother checked the numbers online and confirmed the massive $180,000 jackpot win. Still in disbelief, the two headed to Shell Super Stop to scan the ticket. The store clerk quickly confirmed the big win and advised Rene to go to Little Rock to claim his prize.

Accompanied by his brother and nephew, Rene traveled to Little Rock’s ASL Claim Center to collect his jackpot prize. His plans for the winnings? A new trailer to improve his living situation and enjoy his hard-earned prize.
