Little Rock, Arkansas – At the request of the State of Arkansas, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has extended the deadline for homeowners and renters who suffered damage from the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding from May 24-27. The new deadline to apply for federal disaster assistance is now August 28, providing more time for affected individuals in Baxter, Benton, Boone, Fulton, Greene, Madison, Marion, and Randolph counties to seek help.
Assistance Available for Storm Survivors
FEMA assistance can provide crucial support for those impacted by the severe weather. This includes rental assistance, temporary housing, home repairs, and coverage for personal property losses. Additionally, FEMA can help with other disaster-related needs not covered by insurance. It is important to note that FEMA grants do not need to be repaid, are nontaxable, and will not affect eligibility for Social Security, Medicaid, or other federal benefits.
