Little Rock, Arkansas – Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders joined leaders from Turning Point USA to announce a new partnership designed to bring student-led civic clubs into high schools across the state. The announcement came during a visit to Arkansas Christian Academy, where students gathered for a pep rally celebrating the launch of a new Club America chapter on campus.
Governor Sanders attended the event alongside Turning Point USA Chairwoman and CEO Erika Kirk, where they highlighted the importance of encouraging young Americans to become involved in leadership, civic discussion, and the foundational principles of the United States.
During the rally, Sanders spoke about the legacy of the organization’s founder and the role the program could play in shaping future leaders.
“Charlie Kirk dedicated his life to empowering young Americans to stand up for faith, freedom, and the principles our country was founded on,” said Governor Sanders. “I had the privilege of calling Charlie a friend and seeing firsthand the movement he built. Bringing Club America chapters to Arkansas high schools will help continue that mission and inspire the next generation of leaders.”
Partnership Expands Civic Clubs in Arkansas Schools
Earlier in the day, Sanders joined students at Arkansas Christian Academy in Bryant to celebrate the school’s newly established Club America chapter. The campus event focused on student leadership and the importance of civic participation, while also highlighting themes of faith, freedom, and American ideals.
The pep rally marked the official introduction of the program at the school and served as a launch point for a broader effort to expand Club America chapters throughout Arkansas high schools.
Following the school event, Governor Sanders and Erika Kirk held a press conference at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion, where the governor signed a proclamation formally expressing her administration’s support for Turning Point USA. The proclamation encourages schools across Arkansas to support student-led civic organizations that promote leadership and public engagement.
Turning Point USA, founded in 2012 by conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has grown into one of the largest youth movements in the country focused on educating students about free markets, limited government, and the principles on which the United States was founded.
Although the organization lost its founder following what officials described as the tragic murder of Charlie Kirk last year, its leaders say they remain committed to expanding the mission he started.
The Club America initiative is one of the key programs used to carry that mission forward. The program establishes student-run clubs in high schools where participants discuss civic issues, leadership, and the values associated with American founding principles.
Currently, Turning Point USA is represented on more than 3,500 campuses nationwide, including over 1,200 high school Club America chapters.
Through the new partnership announced in Arkansas, state leaders and Turning Point USA officials say they hope to significantly increase the number of Club America chapters operating within the state’s high schools.
Supporters of the initiative say it will give students more opportunities to engage in civic leadership and learn about the responsibilities of citizenship while discussing ideas such as freedom, limited government, and the founding ideals of the nation.
By encouraging schools to host student-led chapters, officials say the program aims to help young people become more involved in civic life while preparing them to take on leadership roles in their communities and beyond.
