Highway 181 in Keiser scheduled for three-week closure for essential box culvert replacement over Ditch Number 40

Jacksonville drivers advised to use alternate routes as northbound lanes on Highway 67/167 temporarily close for major construction work

Keiser, Arkansas – Highway 181 in Keiser is set to close for 20 days, beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday, December 2, and lasting through 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, to allow crews to replace a box culvert over Ditch Number 40, located just south of Highway 140.

Road Closure Details

The closure will affect Highway 181 between Highway 140 and Interstate 55 (I-55). While the highway will be closed to through traffic, it will remain accessible to local traffic on both sides of the closure.

A signed detour will direct travelers to use I-55 and Highway 140 as alternate routes during the construction period.

This temporary closure is necessary to ensure the safe and efficient replacement of the culvert and improve road infrastructure in the area. The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) appreciates the public’s patience during this essential work.
