Hot Springs woman turns a $100 lottery win into a shocking $50,000 top prize after buying another ticket

Arkansas lottery players prepare for exciting Saturday night drawings as Powerball jackpot reaches $856 million while LOTTO prize climbs above $2.1 million

Hot Springs, Arkansas – A Hot Springs woman’s quick stop to play the lottery turned into a life-changing moment after she transformed a small win into a massive prize, proving that sometimes one lucky break can lead straight into another.

Porscha Rollek recently won $50,000 while playing $50,000 Stacked, a $20 instant game, according to the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery. Rollek claimed her prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on Jan. 20, marking a major milestone for an occasional lottery player who never expected her day would end with such a huge surprise.

The winning ticket was purchased at Smokes #35, located at 1545 Malvern Ave. in Hot Springs, where Rollek decided to try her luck after already having a positive start. She had just cashed in $100 from an earlier lottery win, and instead of walking away, she chose to roll that prize into another game.

A $100 Win Turns Into a $50,000 Shock

Rollek said she was drawn to $50,000 Stacked because she had previously enjoyed success with other Stacked games. That past luck made the ticket stand out to her, and it pushed her to give it a try.

After returning home, Rollek scratched the ticket and realized she had hit a $50,000 top prize, a moment that left her overwhelmed with emotion. The reality of what she was seeing didn’t just feel exciting — it felt unreal.

“I started crying,” Rollek told lottery officials. “I was so happy!”

Still shaking from the moment, Rollek quickly reached out to the people closest to her. She first told her mother, who reportedly screamed after hearing the news, reacting with pure shock and joy. Rollek also shared the exciting update with her children, and she already knows exactly how she wants to use part of her winnings.

According to the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, Rollek plans to take her children on a trip with the prize money, turning the unexpected jackpot into a family memory that will last far longer than the scratch-off ticket itself.

For other players who are still hoping for their own big moment, lottery officials noted that seventy-six $50,000 top prizes remain on $50,000 Stacked, meaning more major wins are still out there waiting to be found.
