Pine Bluff, Arkansas – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) announced that Corporal Reagan Korban of the Uniformed Patrol Division has successfully graduated from the Field Training Officer (FTO) Course, held at the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in Camden, AR. The intensive 40-hour course, conducted from August 12-16, 2024, equips law enforcement officers with the skills and knowledge necessary to mentor and train new deputies within their agencies.
The FTO program at JCSO is a rigorous 12-week training period where new deputies are closely supervised by a seasoned Field Training Officer. During this time, deputies are trained in all aspects of the responsibilities held by the Uniformed Patrol Division. Only after successfully completing this training, and receiving approval from their FTO, are the deputies permitted to patrol independently.
Corporal Korban’s career with JCSO began on August 16, 2022. She was promoted to her current rank on June 16, 2023, reflecting her dedication and capabilities in law enforcement. Prior to her tenure with JCSO, she served with the Pine Bluff and Warren Police Departments, starting her law enforcement career in March 2020.
In addition to graduating from the prestigious FTO course, Corporal Korban was also honored as the Uniformed Patrol Division Deputy of the Month for July 2024. This accolade further highlights her commitment to excellence and her positive impact within the department.
The JCSO is extremely proud of Corporal Korban’s achievements and looks forward to her continued success. Her role as a Field Training Officer will allow her to impart her knowledge and skills to the next generation of deputies, shaping the future of law enforcement in Jefferson County.
