Jefferson County Courthouse announces four-day closure for Christmas holiday

Jefferson County prosecutor finds Pine Bluff police acted lawfully in fatal November encounter

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – The Jefferson County Courthouse has announced a brief closure in observance of the Christmas holiday, urging residents to prepare in advance.

According to county officials, the courthouse will be closed from Tuesday, December 23 through Friday, December 26, 2025, with regular operations resuming on Monday, December 29, 2025.

During this period, all courthouse offices and services will be unavailable, meaning that any legal filings, in-person inquiries, or administrative matters must be completed either before the closure or once offices reopen.

The notice serves as a reminder to Jefferson County residents to handle any time-sensitive matters, such as court documents or license renewals, ahead of time to avoid delays.

This temporary pause in services is part of the county’s standard holiday observance, allowing staff members to spend time with their families during the festive season. Residents with scheduled appointments or deadlines are strongly encouraged to check in with the relevant departments prior to December 23 to ensure a smooth experience.
