Pine Bluff, Arkansas – Pine Bluff police arrested a 17-year-old suspect in connection to a July shooting incident at a high school football game on Friday night. The individual, identified as Ta’Couri McKinzie, was arrested at the Watson Chapel High School football game, according to officials from the Pine Bluff Police Department.
McKinzie’s arrest is a significant breakthrough as he was the third and final suspect in a shooting incident that occurred early in the morning on East Lake Drive, July 15. The tragic event resulted in the death of a 16-year-old boy named Damien Pierson, and another teenager was also gravely injured.
Presently, McKinzie is being held at the Jefferson County Juvenile Detention Center. He faces multiple serious charges, including capital murder, first-degree battery, minor possession of a firearm, and participation in a violent criminal group activity. Authorities have confirmed that McKinzie will face these charges as an adult.
In connection with the same shooting incident, two other 17-year-olds, Morgan Leon and Kylon Bead, have also been taken into custody. Leon is presently confronting a capital murder charge and, similar to McKinzie, will be tried as an adult. Meanwhile, Bead is being charged with capital murder and an additional two counts of first-degree battery.
