Pine Bluff, Arkansas – Get ready to tickle some funny bones and learn the art of stand-up comedy with nationally acclaimed comedian Ben Jones. He is set to conduct a two-part workshop, promising to be an insightful and entertaining experience for aspiring comedians. The sessions are scheduled for 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Monday, January 8, and Thursday, January 11.
Participants in this workshop will dive into the world of comedy, exploring various comedic devices, performance techniques, and onstage etiquette. The workshop also includes exercises designed to help cultivate material, perfect for those looking to hone their comedic craft.
The highlight of the workshop is an open mic performance at 6 p.m. on Friday, January 12, under the banner of ART WORKS Presents: Comedic Relief. This is a golden opportunity for participants to showcase their newfound comedic talents in an optional performance, testing their skills and confidence in front of a live audience.
These sessions and the subsequent performance will take place in the Adam B. Robinson Jr. Black Box Theater at ART WORKS on Main, located at 627 S. Main St. in Pine Bluff. The workshop is open to individuals aged 14 and older, with a registration fee of $30 for members and $40 for nonmembers.
