Little Rock, Arkansas – A Little Rock woman is facing multiple felony theft charges after investigators linked her to a series of shoplifting incidents that allegedly resulted in thousands of dollars in losses for a local retail store.
Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin announced the arrest of 40-year-old Ebonie Louden of Little Rock following an investigation conducted by the Attorney General’s Special Investigations Division (SID).
According to officials, the case began when investigators received information from TJX Companies, the parent company of Marshalls, regarding repeated thefts at one of its Little Rock locations.
Investigation Linked Suspect To Multiple Thefts
Griffin said investigators were alerted to the case on Oct. 8, 2024, after receiving a tip concerning a suspect allegedly responsible for numerous thefts at the store.
“On October 8, 2024, investigators from my Special Investigations Division (SID) received a tip from TJX Companies about a suspect behind multiple thefts at a Little Rock Marshalls. The suspect stole merchandise on September 7, 16, 19, 23, and 28, and again on October 3, 8, and 28 – totaling approximately $12,000 in stolen inventory. My office identified the suspect as Ebonie Louden, 40, of Little Rock.”
Authorities said the alleged thefts occurred over multiple dates during September and October 2024 and resulted in approximately $12,000 worth of merchandise being taken from the store.
Following the investigation, the Attorney General’s Office moved forward with criminal charges.
“On November 8, 2024, my office submitted affidavits to the Pulaski County Prosecutor’s Office seeking eight felony theft warrants for Louden. The court approved the warrants and forwarded them to the Little Rock District Court.”
Arrest Leads To Additional Felony Warrants
The case remained active until Louden was recently taken into custody.
According to Griffin, the Little Rock Police Department arrested her on May 29, 2026, on separate theft-related allegations.
“On May 29, 2026, the Little Rock Police Department arrested Louden on separate theft-related charges. SID then transported her to the Pulaski County Jail, where she was served eight additional felony theft warrants.”
Authorities said the additional felony warrants stem directly from the Marshalls theft investigation conducted by the Special Investigations Division.
Griffin praised the efforts of investigators and local law enforcement officers who worked together on the case.
“I am grateful for the excellent work done by SID and the assistance of the Little Rock Police Department. Retail theft is not a victimless crime. Repeated theft offenses can harm businesses, employees, and consumers. We will continue working with our law enforcement partners to ensure those who commit these crimes are held accountable.”
Prosecutors will now move forward with the felony theft charges as the judicial process continues in Pulaski County.
