Local first responders receive donation from Tractor Supply as part of natiowide initiative

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – The Tractor Supply store in Pine Bluff made a special $500 donation on Thursday morning, splitting the funds equally between the Pine Bluff Police Department (PBPD) and Pine Bluff Fire & Emergency Services. The donation is part of the company’s nationwide Hometown Heroes initiative.

Amanda Black, store leader at the Pine Bluff Tractor Supply location, presented two $250 checks — one to Police Chief Shirley Warrior and the other to Fire Chief Randy Compton — during a brief ceremony that recognized the hard work and dedication of local first responders.

“Thank you so much,” Warrior told Black as she accepted the check in the PBPD’s administrative office foyer at the Pine Bluff Civic Center. “We really appreciate you.”

The check presentation to Fire Chief Compton took place outside Station 1 on State Street in front of a fire engine, offering a symbolic backdrop to the moment. Compton expressed his gratitude, saying, “We really appreciate this.”

According to Black, every Tractor Supply store across the country received $500 in corporate funds — part of a national pool exceeding $1 million — to be used in ways that would “make a difference in local communities.”

“We just wanted you to be able to do something nice for your staff for the holidays, or whatever you want to do with it,” Black told both chiefs. “It means a lot to us what you all do for the community.”

Tractor Supply’s Hometown Heroes initiative aims to celebrate and support veterans, first responders, and public safety officials. On its website, the company highlights partnerships with groups like the Farmer Veteran Coalition and paws4vets, helping military personnel build careers in agriculture and connect with service dogs for mental health support.

“From helping veterans in their beginning years of farming and ranching through the Farmer Veteran Coalition to placing rescue service dogs with veterans suffering from PTSD through paws4vets, it’s an honor to see the meaningful impact this work has on our military and first responder communities,” the company stated.

With the holidays approaching, both the police and fire departments now have a little extra to put toward staff morale or special needs. And for Tractor Supply, it’s another way of showing appreciation to those who serve the community every day.
