Pine Bluff, Arkansas – A tragic collision at the intersection of West 15th Avenue and South Cherry Street in Pine Bluff has claimed the life of a man who was hit by a car while crossing the street Thursday night.
Just before 10:45 p.m. on November 6, 2025, officers with the Pine Bluff Police Department were dispatched to the scene following a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive Black male lying in the roadway. They immediately began life-saving efforts until paramedics from EASI Ambulance Service Inc. arrived and took over.
A witness at the scene told police that the man had been walking westbound on West 15th Avenue and was attempting to cross South Cherry Street when he was hit by a vehicle that was heading south on Cherry. The driver of that vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
The victim, whose name has not been released pending notification of his next of kin, was transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Sadly, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival due to the severity of his injuries.

At this time, no charges have been announced. The department has not yet released whether speed, visibility, or impairment may have played a role in the crash. Authorities continue to gather evidence and speak with witnesses in the area.
This marks another tragic pedestrian fatality in the area and serves as a solemn reminder of the importance of driver awareness and pedestrian safety, especially during late-night hours when visibility is reduced.
