Pine Bluff, Arkansas – The ARTx3 Campus in Pine Bluff is bringing the community together for a festive holiday showcase, “Miracle on Main.” Set to highlight the region’s many talents, this holiday production will hold auditions on Tuesday, Nov. 5, and Thursday, Nov. 7, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Adam B. Robinson Jr. Black Box Theater, located at 627 S. Main St. in Pine Bluff. Led by Public Programs Coordinator Bethany Gere and Theater Assistant Kayla Earnest, the event promises to be a celebration of local artistry and holiday spirit.
Showcase of Local Talent in Pine Bluff
The upcoming “Miracle on Main” production invites a wide variety of talents to audition. Community members interested in performing are encouraged to bring their unique skills to the table, whether it’s singing, dancing, juggling, magic, or storytelling. The event is set to take place at The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas’s Catherine M. Bellamy Theater, with performances scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, and Saturday, Dec. 21.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the local talent we have here,” said Gere, who’s excited to bring Pine Bluff’s talent to the stage. “We want to see everything from singing and dancing to unique skills like juggling or magic.”
Group Performances and Reader’s Theater
For those who enjoy group performances or may feel shy about solo performances, “Miracle on Main” offers a chance to join ensemble pieces. This year’s show will feature a reader’s theater segment of the holiday story Olive the Other Reindeer, introducing participants to theater in a fun, inclusive way. In addition, the production will include a choir-led performance of Christmas Wish, where the community can join together in song and share the holiday spirit.
Participants are invited to choose a favorite holiday song for auditions. Those who prefer not to be in the spotlight can join in group numbers, allowing them to experience the joy of performing in a comfortable setting.
Backstage Volunteers Needed
Behind-the-scenes roles are also essential to the success of Miracle on Main. Gere and Earnest are seeking volunteers interested in learning about set design, lighting, and sound. This opportunity is open to community members eager to be involved in theater production without stepping on stage. “We want everyone to show their talents,” Gere noted. “Whether on stage or off, there’s a role for everyone.”
