Florida – In a deeply disturbing case in Florida that left residents shocked, a teenager’s search for companionship on a dating app ended in her brutal murder. According to reports, the 16-year-old girl, identified as M. Corsette, was beaten to death in the home of the 35-year-old man, identified as S. Gress, following a dispute and then thrown in a dumpster. Authorities suggest that Gress’ girlfriend, identified as M. Brandes, may have played a role in the heinous crime as well.
Corsette’s tragic story began when she connected with Gress through a dating app on Valentine’s Day. According to police reports and local news sources, after their initial meeting, Corsette returned to Gress’s home the following day, where she was last seen alive. The situation escalated into violence when a dispute arose over a missing ring between February 20 and February 24. During this period, Corsette was “brutally beaten” to death.
The subsequent actions taken by Gress were horrifying. Authorities said that he transported Corsette’s body to another location where he continued with the brutal crime. According to detectives, evidence at the second location suggests he cut her body into pieces. Gress then loaded the remains into a vehicle, drove miles to a secluded location, and threw the remains in a dumpster. Law enforcement located the dumpster and is still working to recover Corsette’s remains.
Gress was already incarcerated on unrelated charges, including assault with a harpoon directed at his girlfriend, Brandes, and drug possession. Gress was arrested on March 5, and now faces additional charges, including first-degree murder and kidnapping, in connection with Corsette’s death. The police’s efforts are further complicated as they continue to search for Brandes, who is believed to have played a role in the abduction and murder of Corsette. During a press conference, Police Chief A. Holloway emphasized the dangers of social media interactions, especially for young people. He urged parents and guardians to monitor their children’s online activities closely and advised youths to inform their parents if contacted by strangers.
The community has been left in shock by the brutality of the crime. Corsette, who was home-schooled and lived with her grandmother, was remembered by those who knew her as a vibrant and trusting young person, tragically taken too soon. As the search for her remains continues, law enforcement officers remain committed to bringing full justice for Corsette. Chief Holloway made a public plea to Brandes, stating, “If you’re out there we’re trying to tell you to turn yourself in because we will find you sooner or later.” This statement underscores the determination of the police to resolve all aspects of this heartbreaking case.
The community, while shaken by this tragedy, has rallied together, hoping for closure and justice for Corsette. Meanwhile, the police encourage anyone with information about Brandes’ whereabouts to come forward and contact the police department at 727-893-7780, as every piece of information is crucial for solving this case and preventing future tragedies. This tragic event serves as a harsh reminder of the potential dangers of online interactions and the importance of vigilance in the digital age. As the case unfolds, the community holds onto hope that justice will be served and that lessons will be learned to protect other young individuals from similar fates.
