Mississippi County man wins $200,000 on scratch-off ticket purchased in Bassett

Arkansas lottery players prepare for exciting Saturday night drawings as Powerball jackpot reaches $856 million while LOTTO prize climbs above $2.1 million

Bassett, Arkansas – Robert C. from Mississippi County is celebrating a $200,000 lottery win on the Psychedelic Payout scratch-off ticket — proving that even in the smallest towns, massive luck can strike.

Robert, a regular player of the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, bought his winning $10 ticket at K & M Food Mart in Bassett, a town of just 200 residents. After scratching the ticket at home, what started as a modest surprise turned into an unforgettable moment. “I thought I only won $20 at first and was excited to see more zeros following the initial 20,” he said, recalling how his disbelief quickly turned into excitement.

Lucky Streak Continues

Robert isn’t new to lottery wins — he’s won amounts ranging from $500 to $5,000 in the past. But the $200,000 jackpot is by far his largest win yet. In fact, on the very same day, he picked up a few additional tickets and pocketed another $80 in smaller wins.

He has no strict preference when it comes to choosing tickets, usually going for scratch-offs that cost between $5 and $20, and occasionally trying his luck with draw games. Still, scratch-off tickets seem to bring him the best results. “It was cool, a town so small, you wouldn’t think a big ticket would be there,” Robert said about his winning purchase in Bassett.

A Family Celebration

After realizing the magnitude of his prize, Robert immediately shared the moment with his son — also named Robert — by texting him a photo of the ticket around 10 p.m. “I thought it was fake at first, but I looked at what time it was and realized he’d only be sending me something that late if he really did win,” his son said.

Despite the life-changing win, Robert doesn’t plan on quitting his daily lottery routine anytime soon. “Oh yeah, for sure!” he responded when asked if he’ll keep playing, with his son adding, “He’s very lucky when it comes to the scratch-off tickets.”

Plans and Remaining Prizes

Robert already has practical plans for his winnings — a new truck and putting the rest into savings. According to the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, one top-tier $200,000 prize still remains on the Psychedelic Payout game.
