North Heights Community Center to host Back-to-School Gymnastics Pop-Up Class

North Little Rock, Arkansas—The City of North Little Rock Parks and Recreation Department is inviting young athletes to flip into fall with a special Back-to-School Gymnastics Pop-Up Class. The event will take place on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. at the North Heights Community Center, 4801 Allen Street, North Little Rock. Registration will be available at the door for $10.

This fun-filled event is part of the well-established “NLR Superstars” program, a popular gymnastics initiative operated by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department. “NLR Superstars” offers a variety of classes for different age groups, including preschool gymnastics, boys’ gymnastics and parkour, girls’ beginner and intermediate gymnastics, and beginner tumbling. The program focuses on teaching gymnastics skills while building strength, coordination, balance, and flexibility in a fun and safe environment.

Kick Off the School Year with Confidence

The upcoming Back-to-School Pop-Up is open to girls ages 5–17. Organizers stress that it is designed for all skill levels—whether participants are trying gymnastics for the first time or already part of the NLR Superstars program. Coaches will provide instruction to help each gymnast improve and enjoy the sport in a welcoming setting.

“Kick off the new school year with some flips, fun and friends,” the event announcement reads. “Whether you are brand new to gymnastics or already a Superstar, this pop up is a perfect way to kick start the school year with confidence.”

For more details, parents and guardians can call 501-791-8576.

The Back-to-School Gymnastics Pop-Up not only encourages physical activity but also builds confidence and social connections—making it the perfect way for young athletes to start the school year strong.
