Pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle on East Harding Avenue in Pine Bluff

Pine Bluff authorities confirm arrest of woman wanted for first degree domestic battery incident

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – On the evening of September 10, 2024, Pine Bluff authorities responded to a tragic pedestrian accident near Pennsylvania and East Harding Avenue. At approximately 8:43 p.m., officers were dispatched to the scene where an unresponsive black male was found lying in the roadway. Emergency services, including EASI Ambulance, Pine Bluff Fire, and a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputy, were already present and providing aid.

Accident Details and Investigation

According to the driver of the vehicle involved, the accident occurred when the pedestrian unexpectedly walked into the road between Pennsylvania and Florida Street as the driver was heading west on East Harding Avenue. Following the incident, the driver was taken to the W. C. Dub Brassell Detention Center to undergo a blood alcohol content test. It was later confirmed that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol, and he was released.

Despite efforts from emergency responders, the injured man was transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center by EASI Ambulance, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
