Pine Bluff, Arkansas – Authorities have confirmed that a woman wanted in connection with a violent domestic battery case in Pine Bluff is now in custody.

The Pine Bluff Police Department had previously issued a public alert requesting assistance in locating 39-year-old Shermica King, a Black female whose last known address was 2201 Woodgate Drive in Pine Bluff. King was being sought for first degree domestic battery, a serious charge under Arkansas law.

Following the release of her information and appeal for help, local authorities received numerous tips from the community, which led to her apprehension. Law enforcement thanked the public for their cooperation in aiding the search.

“The suspect is now in custody,” officials confirmed, bringing closure to a search that had prompted calls for vigilance and community awareness.

At the time of the alert, police encouraged anyone with knowledge of King’s whereabouts to contact them via the main department line at (870) 541-5300, the Detective’s Office at (870) 730-2090, or to send in anonymous tips by calling (870) 730-2106 or visiting www.pbpd.org.

The Pine Bluff Police Department has not released further details about the incident leading to the charge, but emphasized their commitment to holding individuals accountable in domestic violence cases. The community’s swift response was instrumental in helping bring this case to a resolution.
