Pine Bluff Police join nationwide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign ahead of Labor Day holiday

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – The Pine Bluff Police Department is joining a nationwide effort aimed at keeping impaired drivers off the road as the Labor Day holiday approaches.

The department is partnering with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration as part of the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign. The effort will continue through September 7, 2026.

During the campaign, Pine Bluff police officers will focus on identifying and stopping drivers who are suspected of operating vehicles while impaired. The effort comes as people prepare for Labor Day celebrations, when gatherings may include alcohol.

Police are reminding residents that making transportation plans before drinking can help prevent serious and potentially deadly crashes.

Police urge drivers to make a plan before drinking

Anyone who expects to drink is encouraged to select a designated sober driver before going out. Police are also asking people not to allow friends or family members to drive when they are impaired.

Residents who notice someone they suspect is driving impaired are encouraged to contact law enforcement rather than ignoring the situation.

The campaign’s message emphasizes that a single choice can have major consequences for drivers, passengers and everyone else sharing the road.

Through its participation in the national campaign, the Pine Bluff Police Department is encouraging the community to take an active role in keeping local roads safer throughout the holiday period.

The department’s message is straightforward for anyone celebrating Labor Day with alcohol by arranging a sober ride before getting behind the wheel. The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign will remain underway through September 7.
