Pine Bluff, Arkansas – Authorities in southeast Arkansas are renewing their call for public assistance as they continue investigating a homicide that has remained unresolved for more than three years. Detectives say new tips or overlooked details could prove critical in bringing justice to the victim and answers to his grieving family.

Ongoing Investigation into 2022 Fatal Shooting

The Pine Bluff Police Department is requesting the public’s help in connection with a homicide that occurred on January 7, 2022, at a residence in the 1000 block of South Linden Street in Pine Bluff.

According to investigators, officers were dispatched at approximately 9:45 p.m. to 1020 South Linden Street following reports of a shooting. When officers arrived at the residence, they discovered 42-year-old Darwin Marquis Ford inside suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Mr. Ford was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Jefferson County Coroner.

Detectives say the case remains active and ongoing, with investigators continuing to follow leads and gather evidence related to the circumstances surrounding Ford’s death. Despite the passage of time, authorities emphasize that homicide cases remain a priority and that even the smallest piece of information could help move the investigation forward.

Family members say Ford was deeply loved and continue to seek answers and closure following the tragic loss. In an effort to encourage cooperation from the public, the Pine Bluff Police Department is offering a reward for information that leads to the arrest and/or conviction of the person or persons responsible.

Community Cooperation Critical

Investigators urge anyone with information — no matter how minor it may seem — to come forward. Tips can be provided by contacting the Pine Bluff Police Detective Bureau at (870) 730-2090. Individuals wishing to remain anonymous may call the tip line at (870) 730-2106.

Officials stress that community cooperation plays a vital role in solving violent crimes and helping families find peace after devastating loss. By sharing information, residents may help bring accountability and closure in a case that has weighed heavily on loved ones for years.
