Pine Bluff police seek public help to find man wanted for 1st Degree Battery

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – A 67-year-old disabled man from Arkansas became a victim of robbery and assault right in his own driveway. The Pine Bluff police reported that the elderly man, who is black and disabled, was followed home after receiving help at a local service station on Wednesday night. The suspects, whom the man recognized as the same individuals who had just assisted him with pumping gas, brutally robbed and beat him using a handgun.

The incident unfolded when the elderly man, seated in his vehicle at his residence, was approached and attacked by multiple suspects. During this appalling act, several of his possessions were stolen, including his own handgun. The victim, despite his vulnerability and the traumatic experience, was able to provide a detailed account to the authorities.

The Pine Bluff police, through their investigation, identified 21-year-old Jason Lawrence as one of the primary suspects in this aggravated robbery. Lawrence, considered armed and dangerous due to the involvement of a handgun in the crime, is being actively sought by law enforcement. The police have warned the public about his dangerous nature on social media, urging caution.

Lawrence is described as a black male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing around 180 pounds, with distinctive brown and black dreadlocks. His last known address was recorded as 1610 W. 16th Ave.

This heinous crime has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the vulnerability of elderly and disabled individuals. The betrayal of trust and the violent nature of the crime have raised concerns about public safety and the need for vigilance even in seemingly benign situations like receiving help at a service station.

As the police continue their search for Lawrence and potentially other suspects, the community is rallying around the victim, offering support and demanding justice. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the need for greater protective measures for the elderly and disabled, and the importance of community solidarity in the face of such egregious acts of violence.
