Pine Bluff, Arkansas – Young people interested in cooking will have an opportunity to sharpen their kitchen abilities during the upcoming Create Cooking Camp, a weeklong program designed for participants ages 12 through 17.
The camp will take place Monday through Friday, July 6 through July 10, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Creative Construction Zone inside The Arts & Science Center. The program is led by instructor David Small and is designed to give teenagers practical cooking experience in a fun and supportive setting.
Camp combines cooking lessons with practical life skills
Throughout the week, campers will prepare a variety of meals and treats while learning important kitchen techniques. Participants will practice food safety, follow recipes, and develop confidence as they work through guided cooking activities.
The program also encourages teamwork and creativity, helping students build valuable life skills they can continue using long after the camp ends.
Enrollment is open to youth between the ages of 12 and 17, with space limited to 15 participants.
Registration costs $110 for members and $140 for non-members.
Parents and guardians are reminded that they must read the summer camp manual and complete the required self-checkout authorization form before the first day of camp to ensure their child is ready to participate.
Organizers say the camp offers an enjoyable way for teens to gain hands-on cooking experience while becoming more comfortable in the kitchen and learning skills that will benefit them in everyday life.
