Prairie County resident wins $500,000 lottery prize during a routine stop for a snack

Little Rock, Arkansas – A Prairie County resident, Oliver J., turned a routine stop for a snack into a life-changing moment when he won $500,000 playing the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery’s 200X the Win scratch-off game. Oliver claimed his massive prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on December 12.

A Routine That Paid Off Big

Oliver’s winning ticket was purchased at Wa Wa Mart, located at 7515 Baseline Road in Little Rock. As part of his daily routine, he stopped at the convenience store for a snack and a drink. A regular lottery player who enjoys scratch-off tickets, Oliver decided to try his luck with a $20 200X the Win ticket.

While still inside the store, he scratched the ticket, planning to head to the barbershop and run errands afterward. However, his plans changed instantly when he saw the winning numbers. To his amazement, Oliver had just won the game’s $500,000 top prize.

Staying Calm Amid the Excitement

Instead of reacting with overwhelming excitement, Oliver remained composed and decided to confirm his win with his brother. His brother, equally calm, told lottery officials, “I didn’t get too excited. I wanted confirmation.”

Rather than continuing their errands, they went straight to the ASL Claim Center to verify the ticket. The moment was confirmed: Oliver was indeed a half-million-dollar winner.

After officially claiming his prize, Oliver shared his emotions about the win. “I feel good!” he said, clearly savoring the incredible moment. However, he has not yet made any concrete plans for how he will use his newfound wealth.
