Traffic disruptions expected on Interstate 30 in Little Rock with daytime and overnight lane closures

Little Rock, Arkansas – Motorists traveling on Interstate 30 (I-30) in Little Rock and North Little Rock should prepare for a series of lane closures and traffic shifts during the week of Monday, August 26, as construction work continues in the area. Overnight Lane Closures

Overnight closures will take place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. with double-lane closures limited to the hours between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. to minimize disruptions during peak traffic hours. The overnight closures include:

  • I-30/I-40 Lanes and Ramps: There will be single and double-lane closures at the north terminal in North Little Rock.

  • I-30 Frontage Road Northbound: A single-lane closure will be implemented between the I-30 off-ramp (Exit 140) and 6th Street in Little Rock.
  • I-30 Frontage Road Southbound On-Ramp: A full closure will occur on the on-ramp to I-30 westbound in Little Rock near Interstate, with detours signed.
  • Cypress Street Southbound: Single-lane closures will also be in effect between 5th and Broadway streets in North Little Rock.
  • Riverfront Drive: Additional single-lane closures are planned between Olive and Pine streets in North Little Rock.
  • Broadway Street: Single-lane closures will be present between Magnolia and Pine streets in North Little Rock.
  • Locust Street Northbound: A single-lane closure will affect traffic between Broadway and 5th streets in North Little Rock.

24-Hour Closure

In addition to the lane closures, there will be a full 24-hour closure of President Clinton Avenue between Mahlon Martin and Sherman streets in Little Rock. Detours will be marked to guide traffic around the closure.

Safety and Traffic Control

Traffic through the construction zones will be controlled using construction barrels and signage. Drivers are urged to exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all work zones to ensure the safety of both workers and motorists.

The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) appreciates the public’s patience and understanding as these important infrastructure improvements are completed. For ongoing updates and a detailed detour map, motorists can visit ArDOT’s website.
