Road work on I-30 to cause major lane closures next week in Little Rock and North Little Rock

Traffic disruptions expected on Interstate 30 in Little Rock with daytime and overnight lane closures

Little Rock, Arkansas – The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) has announced a series of lane closures on Interstate 30 (I-30) in Little Rock and North Little Rock during the week of Monday, August 5. These closures are necessary to facilitate ongoing construction and maintenance work.

Daytime Lane Closures

From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., single-lane closures will occur at the following locations:

  • I-30 frontage road southbound between 6th and 10th streets in Little Rock
  • Cypress Street southbound between 5th and Broadway streets in North Little Rock
  • Riverfront Drive between Olive and Pine streets in North Little Rock
  • Broadway Street between Magnolia and Pine streets in North Little Rock
  • Locust Street northbound between Broadway and 5th streets in North Little Rock

Overnight Lane Closures

Overnight closures will take place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., with double-lane closures limited to 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. to minimize traffic disruption. The specific overnight closures include:

  • I-30 (single and double-lane closures and traffic shifts) between Roosevelt Road in Little Rock and Interstate 40 (I-40) in North Little Rock
  • I-30/I-40 lanes and ramps at the north terminal in North Little Rock
  • I-630 eastbound ramp (Exit 140) to I-30 eastbound and the I-630 eastbound ramp to the I-30 northbound frontage road in Little Rock (full closures with signed detours)
  • I-30 frontage road northbound between the I-30 off-ramp (Exit 140) and 6th Street in Little Rock
  • I-30 frontage road southbound on-ramp to I-30 westbound near Interstate (full closure with detours signed)
  • 3rd Street between Mahlon Martin and Sherman streets in Little Rock (full closure with signed detours)
  • Cypress Street southbound between 5th and Broadway streets in North Little Rock
  • Riverfront Drive between Olive and Pine streets in North Little Rock
  • Broadway Street between Magnolia and Pine streets in North Little Rock
  • Locust Street northbound between Broadway and 5th streets in North Little Rock

24-Hour Closures

There will be continuous, 24-hour closures at the following location:

  • President Clinton Avenue between Mahlon Martin and Sherman streets in Little Rock (full closure with detours signed)

Safety and Traffic Control

Traffic in the construction zones will be managed using construction barrels and signage. Drivers are advised to exercise caution when approaching and traveling through these work zones to ensure their safety and that of the construction workers.
