Springdale, Arkansas – A Springdale man struck it big in the Sept. 16 Powerball drawing, walking away with a $1 million prize. He claimed his winnings at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on Sept. 19.

The winning ticket was purchased at Casey’s General Store #3414, located at 4751 W. Don Tyson Park in Springdale. The winning numbers for the drawing were 8, 9, 11, 27, and 31, with a Powerball number of 17 and a Power Play multiplier of 5.

The lucky winner, who occasionally plays the lottery, bought the Quick Pick ticket while stopping for gas. “I said, ‘Yeah, give me a Powerball ticket,’” he shared with lottery officials. That simple decision turned into a life-changing win after he matched five out of the five numbers, scoring the $1 million prize.

The winner learned about his good fortune the morning after the drawing. Still in disbelief, he visited another convenience store to scan his ticket and confirm the news. Although shocked by the win, he remains undecided about how he will use the prize money.

Meanwhile, excitement continues to grow around the LOTTO jackpot, which has now climbed to $3.582 million for the next drawing on Wednesday night. This is the first time the jackpot has surpassed the $3.5 million mark, creating even more buzz around the game.

LOTTO drawings take place every Wednesday and Saturday at 9 p.m., with ticket sales closing at 8:59 p.m. on the night of the draw. Each play costs $2, and tickets can be purchased at licensed Arkansas lottery retailers or online.
