White Hall, Arkansas – Drivers traveling through Jefferson County should prepare for a temporary traffic change as highway crews begin work on a key exit in White Hall. Transportation officials announced that the southbound exit ramp from Interstate 530 to Highway 270/365 South will close for reconstruction, requiring motorists to use a marked detour during the closure period.
Weekend Closure Planned for Ramp Reconstruction
The Interstate 530 southbound exit ramp for Highway 270/365S (Exit 34) in White Hall is scheduled to close continuously from 8 p.m. Friday, February 27, through 6 a.m. Monday, March 2. Weather conditions permitting, the shutdown will allow construction crews to reconstruct the existing southbound exit ramp.
During the closure, drivers traveling southbound on I-530 will not be able to access Exit 34 and must follow a designated detour route. Southbound traffic will exit at Exit 30, travel onto Highway 104 south, then proceed to Highway 270 east to reconnect with I-530. Officials advise motorists to allow extra travel time and remain alert while navigating the detour.
Northbound traffic on Interstate 530 will not be affected by the construction work.
To guide drivers safely through the area, crews will place digital message boards, construction barrels, barricades, and roadway signage to clearly mark the closure and detour route. Transportation officials remind motorists to slow down in work zones and stay attentive to changing traffic patterns.
