Temporary overnight closure planned for I-30 westbound off-ramp at Exit 114 in Saline County

Weekend closure of I-55 bridge set to impact drivers between Arkansas and Tennessee

Benton, Arkansas – Motorists traveling through Saline County should prepare for a brief overnight detour due to scheduled ramp work on Interstate 30. “Ramp work on Interstate 30 (I-30) in Saline County requires a temporary closure of the I-30 westbound off-ramp at Exit 114 (Highway 67/229) from 9 p.m. Monday, September 15, through 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, September 16.”

Overnight Closure and Detour Details

The planned closure, which is weather dependent, will allow road crews to complete ramp improvements at Exit 114. The work is expected to take place during a three-hour period within the overall overnight timeframe. During this time, drivers heading west on I-30 who need to access Highway 67/229 will not be able to exit directly at Exit 114.

Instead, those drivers are advised to continue traveling westbound on I-30 until they reach Exit 111. From there, they can loop back via eastbound I-30 to reach Highway 67/229 at Exit 114. This temporary detour will be clearly marked, with signage posted ahead of the closure to alert drivers and guide them safely through the alternate route.

Traffic in the area will be managed using construction barrels and signs to ensure safety and maintain an orderly flow. Officials are urging drivers to reduce their speed and remain alert while passing through the construction zone.

Noise and Safety Considerations

Because the work is scheduled for nighttime hours, some adjacent neighborhoods and businesses may experience elevated noise levels. Crews are expected to be working during late-night and early-morning periods when traffic is lighter, which should minimize disruptions for most commuters.

The Arkansas Department of Transportation reminds the public to exercise caution in all active work zones and to allow for additional travel time during the ramp closure. Drivers should remain vigilant for workers and equipment and adhere to all posted warnings and speed limits.

Once the ramp improvements are complete, the area is expected to benefit from improved safety and smoother traffic flow for local and through traffic alike.
