Little Rock, Arkansas – A routine gift purchased on the road turned into an unforgettable moment for a Texas couple after a scratch-off ticket revealed a life-changing prize.
T. Edgerson of Collin County, Texas, claimed a $100,000 top prize after playing Fire and Ice, a $5 instant game. She collected her winnings at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on Feb. 11, marking the joyful end to a surprise that began with her husband’s thoughtful purchase.
A Surprise Gift Turns Into a Big Win
Edgerson’s husband, a truck driver who often buys $5 tickets during his travels, picked up the lucky ticket at Dixon Road Exxon. When he spotted the Fire and Ice game, he believed it would make the perfect small gift to bring home.
After he returned, Edgerson scratched the ticket and quickly realized the couple had struck it big.
“There was a lot of screaming,” Edgerson told lottery officials, laughing. “We won!”
The couple shared the exciting news with their daughter first, turning the moment into a family celebration. They say they plan to eventually take a trip using the prize money, transforming the unexpected win into future memories.
“You just never know when you’ll win,” Edgerson’s husband said.
Lottery officials noted that one $100,000 top prize still remains in the Fire and Ice game, giving other players a chance at similar good fortune.
Another Prize Still Waiting to Be Claimed
In separate lottery news, a winning LOTTO ticket worth $25,000 was purchased through the Jackpocket app for the Feb. 18 drawing. The winning numbers were 2, 8, 14, 15, 23, and 26, with Bonus Number 27. The ticket remains unclaimed, and the winner has 180 days from the drawing date to collect the prize.
Meanwhile, the LOTTO jackpot has climbed to $860,000 for Saturday night’s drawing, offering another opportunity for hopeful players across the state.
